LAUNCHED IN 2007, HARI IS A BRITISH LIFESTYLE BRAND DESIGNED BY LAINEY SHERIDAN-YOUNG. After four years at Conde Nast as a stylist and booking agent and then as a PR and sales agent for various new fashion labels, Lainey saw that the market was lacking in a brand that she required for her own very active lifestyle. She has been studying various forms of yoga asana for more than 15 years and has been a qualified teacher for the past 5 years teaching both dynamic group classes and private lessons. She therefore needed to create a range that is comfortable, stylish and signature - clothes that can take herself and any beautifully dressed independent woman from the gym or the yoga class on to lunch or to a meeting. The name Hari derives from the lion in one of the ancient Vedas; Lainey is herself a Leo and loves the power that the lion symbol represents. The logo of the lion with the heart on the tail implies ‘Love and Pride’ – a tagging that is used on some of the t-shirts and vests from the first collections and can be seen throughout the collections. Hari has already caught the attention of various celebrities including, notably Madonna – the ultimate icon to approve of a sports/active wear label.
