The Joohn Hardy brand was born of a collaboration between designers and artisans. The artisan brings deep knowledge of materials and processes. The designer brings the impact of imagination-the sudden intuition, the natured vision.

The early John Hardy pieces grew out of four traditional Balinese jewellery-making techniques: ranti (woven chain); tenun (woven mesh); and ukiran (cut work). Master jeweler Werner Bellezer developed superbly engineered clasps and introduced modern technical solutions to make the jewellery more comfortable and durable.
