About Carolyn Massey
Carolyn Massey is a great new talent that I feel will become established in the London menswear movement, that has been growing over the last couple of years." - Matthew Murphy B STORE.
Carolyn Massey, a London-based British menswear designer, completed her MA at the Royal College of Art in June 2005. Due to 'frustation, boredom, and demand', Massey launched her eponymous label in June 2006 in Paris, having completed her MA just twelve months before.
Continuing to evolve apace over several seasons, Massey's sizeable strides within the industry have been recognised and rewarded by the British Fashion Council, who selected the designer as a recipient of its inaugural NEWGEN MEN award - sponsored by Topman - supplying showcase funding and the opportunity to present on the official London Fashion Week schedule. Massey was recently announced a third-time recipient of this award and will present her Spring Summer 2011 collection on Wednesday 22nd September 2010 at London's Somerset House.
A detail obsessive, Massey is known for her quintessentially elegant English cuts and sartorial nuances. Her work investigates what it takes to be a gentleman, and how this concept of masculinity has been appropriated during times of civil or social unrest.
