Union first opened it's doors in NYC in 1989, followed shortly after by the Los Angeles chapter, which is now the only remaining door. Their concept is simple we walk the line of fashion and function. They like to offer functional clothing that has subtle fashion sensibilities.
Their history is steeped in offering clothing and fashion differing from what you can find in department and chain stores. Tey hhave always prided thier selves in the fact that they give customers an option outside of the mainstream. The way they have been successful at this is two pronged; finding new designers and brands and/or finding brands and designers from overseas and introducing them to the US market.
They've always tried to keep an element of the store where they give young up and coming designers a place to showcase and sell their goods. As a direct outcome, they have become a store that has "broken" many brands in America, of which most have gone on to great commercial success.
