Inspired by the phrase "ANYTHING GOES", VERBAL and YOON started the Tokyo-based design collective in 2002.
In 2004 they launched the jewelry brand, Antonio Murphy & Astro®. Using 18K gold, platinum, diamonds and other precious stones, their witty and comical twist to the mainstream Hip Hop jewelry at the time caught the attention of the many artists and the media. Their most popular pieces were the "King of Pop" pendants, which played with the classic Jesus-piece motif and was homage to the late pop star, and the impressive "V" pendant, reminiscent of the Olympic gold medal with the tri-colored tape, using over 200 carats of multiple-colored diamonds and other precious stones. Exclusive pieces were worn by the likes of Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Big Sean, to name a few.
